Exploring The Full Body Orgasm: A Personal Journey as a Tantric Practitioner

As a tantric practitioner, I’ve had the privilege of guiding people through transformative experiences that help them connect more deeply to their bodies and the flow of life force energy within. One concept that often intrigues my clients is the idea of a full body orgasm—an experience that is as much about healing and release as it is about pleasure.

This journey into deeper connection has its roots in the work of Wilhelm Reich, an early psychoanalyst who deeply influenced how we understand sexual energy and the body. His teachings resonate strongly with the practices I offer, and I’d love to share how this powerful experience can unfold through the lens of tantric massage.

Wilhelm Reich was not just a psychoanalyst; he was a pioneer in understanding how our bodies store emotional energy. He studied under Freud but went on to explore how the body and mind were intimately connected. Reich believed that unresolved emotions and trauma could manifest physically as tension or "body armor"—a term he used to describe the way we protect ourselves from feeling pain, often unconsciously.

One of Reich’s most revolutionary ideas was that the natural flow of life force energy (which he called "orgone energy") could be blocked by these tensions. When this happens, it can prevent us from fully experiencing pleasure, joy, or even a sense of deep connection with ourselves and others. For Reich, a full body orgasm was the ultimate release of this energy—a moment when we are no longer bound by the tensions we carry, and our entire body becomes alive with sensation and pleasure.

Working as a tantric practitioner, I’ve seen firsthand how clients come to me holding years of stress and emotional weight in their bodies. Many have experienced traditional orgasms, but they’re curious about this deeper, more expansive form of release that Wilhelm Reich described. A traditional orgasm is often short, focused on the genitals, and usually followed by a drop in energy. In contrast, a full body orgasm is a much slower, more expansive experience. It’s different in that it encompasses the entire body and often unfolds as waves of pleasure that ebb and flow, rather than a quick, intense peak.

I remember one session in particular where a client came to me with a desire to feel more alive and in touch with their body. They weren’t chasing the traditional idea of an orgasm but wanted to explore a more profound, full-body experience. As we began the session, I guided them through breathwork, asking them to focus on slow, deep breathing while I gently worked with their body.

Over the course of the session, something began to shift. They relaxed, their breath deepened, and they started to release the tension they hadn’t even realized they were holding. By the end, they described the sensation as waves of energy rippling through them—not just in one area, but everywhere. It wasn’t the sharp peak of a typical orgasm, but a prolonged, full-body release that left them feeling euphoric, peaceful, and deeply connected to themselves.

This is the beauty of Reich’s full body orgasm—it’s not something you "achieve" through effort but something you allow to unfold as you open up to your body’s energy.

In both Reich’s work and the practices I use, the key to a full body orgasm lies in releasing the tension we store in our bodies. Reich believed that emotions, particularly unexpressed ones, get trapped in our muscles and energy centers. Through breath, movement, and conscious touch, we can begin to dissolve this tension and invite a free flow of energy.

Here’s how I approach this with my clients:

Breathwork: Deep, rhythmic breathing is foundational. Breath is the bridge between the body and the mind, and by focusing on it, we can help energy flow more freely. I often guide clients to inhale deeply and exhale fully, releasing stress and allowing sensation to expand.

Conscious Touch: In tantric massage, touch is used with great awareness. Each stroke is intentional, designed to activate energy centers and help the body release tension. By being present with each touch, I encourage my clients to let go of any holding patterns in their bodies.

Emotional Release: Sometimes, emotions surface during these sessions, and that’s completely natural. Whether it’s tears, laughter, or just a deep exhale, these emotional releases are part of the process. They clear the path for the energy to move freely again.

Slowing Down: One of the most powerful aspects of this work is the invitation to slow down. Rather than rushing toward an orgasm, I encourage my clients to be with each sensation as it arises. This heightened awareness often leads to an experience of pleasure that permeates the whole body, rather than being concentrated in one area.

From my experience, a full body orgasm is about so much more than physical pleasure—it’s about connecting deeply to yourself, your energy, and even your emotions. When we release the tension that we carry, we can experience more aliveness, more joy, and a sense of profound peace that lingers long after the session ends.

For many clients, this kind of experience brings healing. The act of letting go, of allowing energy to flow freely, can release not just physical tension but emotional blocks as well. It’s a chance to reconnect with parts of themselves that they may have forgotten or suppressed.

If you’re curious about experiencing a full body orgasm, I encourage you to approach it with a sense of openness and curiosity. In my tantric massage practice, the focus isn’t on chasing a specific outcome but on allowing your body to guide you. Through breath, touch, and presence, you can explore the depths of your own pleasure and connection.

You don’t need to achieve a full body orgasm on your first try—or ever, for that matter. The beauty of this practice lies in the journey itself. Whether you experience the orgasmic waves or simply feel more relaxed and connected, you are already doing the work of releasing and opening up to your body’s wisdom.

In my work as a tantric practitioner, I see how Wilhelm Reich’s insights into the full body orgasm resonate with modern practices of healing and connection. It’s not just about the orgasm; it’s about the process of freeing ourselves from the tension and blocks that hold us back. It’s about opening up to the possibility of pleasure that goes beyond the surface and touches something deeper.

If you’re ready to explore what this could look like for you, take a deep breath, let go of expectations, and step into the journey. Your body holds the key. It’s difficult to fully explain in words how a full body orgasm feels, as it transcends anything my mind could ever grasp. It’s one of those experiences that defies language because it engages the body and soul on such an expansive, energetic level. To understand it, we first need to recognize how traditional orgasms work as a release of sexual energy.

In a normal orgasm, sexual energy builds up in the body—there’s an increase in tension, excitement, and sensation as that energy grows. Eventually, this energy reaches a point where it’s too intense for the body to hold, and the energy is released. For men, this release is often accompanied by ejaculation, and for women, it’s felt as a literal outward release of energy. The sensation is powerful but brief, and often, once the orgasm is over, there’s a feeling of being drained or disconnected. The energy has been expended, leaving the body feeling empty in a way.

But a full body orgasm is something completely different. Instead of directing that energy outwards, we focus on cultivating the energy inwards and upwards, allowing it to flow through the entire body rather than concentrating it solely in the genitals. The energy continues to move and expand, leaving you feeling blissful and deeply connected. It’s not an experience of exhaustion but of rejuvenation—instead of feeling depleted afterward, you feel energized and nurtured. The sensations of a full body orgasm can feel endless, moving in waves through your body, allowing the pleasure to linger and transform into a sensation of profound peace and expansiveness.

The key to achieving this experience lies in relaxing your body and being present with your sensations. Muscle tension creates energetic blockages in the body, preventing the energy from moving freely. If there’s tension or tightness, that sexual energy won’t have the space to flow. So, during a session, I’ll guide you to soften your muscles, particularly around your pelvis and belly, helping you to let go of any tension you might be holding.

Another essential aspect is learning to notice the subtle changes in your body as your arousal grows. Energy goes where your attention flows—if you keep your attention solely on your genitals, the energy will stay there, leading to a more traditional orgasm. But the invitation here is to move your awareness across your entire body, noticing the subtleties of sensation in other areas. Can you feel the tingling in your legs? The warmth rising in your chest? By expanding your awareness, you allow the energy to move beyond your genitals and into the rest of your body.

Breathing is another crucial part of this practice. It’s your breath that helps the energy to flow. If you don’t breathe fully, your energy will stagnate, and your body will contract, blocking the potential for a full body orgasm. I’ll guide you to keep your breath slow, deep, and relaxed. Imagine the breath traveling all the way down to your pelvis, gently filling your body with energy. It’s also important not to hold your breath at any point, which is something many people unconsciously do during a regular orgasm. Holding your breath keeps the energy stuck, so I’ll encourage you to breathe openly and fully throughout the experience.

During the session, I’ll also guide you in using visualization to help direct your energy. As you breathe, I’ll invite you to imagine pulling the energy up through your body, from your pelvis up to your heart, and even higher to the crown of your head. This upward movement of energy is a hallmark of the full body orgasm, and through visualization, you can begin to direct that energy consciously, allowing it to move freely.
