The Reclamation - The Alnwick Retreat Space

A Reclamation

Lately, I’ve been sitting with the journey that led to the birthing of this workshop and retreat space. What began as a vision—a whisper, really—has taken shape as something far greater than I imagined. Not just in bricks and mortar, but in meaning. In medicine.

This space, this building, is more than a structure. It’s a symbol. A living, breathing embodiment of the work that I hold close to my heart. The work of reclamation.

Right now, the space is still in its birthing period. We’re in the final push—the intense, breath-held moment before the new arrives fully into the world. There’s dust in corners, tools still tucked in the walls, but the soul of the space is already here. It’s humming. Alive. Ready.

From the outside, it stands as a self-contained sanctuary—complete with a soft walnut LVT floor that grounds the room in warmth, a log burner that radiates not just heat, but a sense of home. There’s a bathroom, a wet room, a kitchen—everything needed for rest, nourishment, and renewal. But the deeper story lies in the bones of the place.

If you look closely, you’ll see that each stone carries history. They’ve been reclaimed from buildings that once stood tall and have since fallen. Others were buried deep in the earth beneath us—uncovered after lying dormant for nearly two centuries. These stones, once discarded or forgotten, are now part of something new. Something sacred.

And that, to me, is no coincidence. It’s alignment. It’s a physical metaphor for the inner work I’ve spent years learning, unlearning, and sharing.

This building tells the story of what it means to return to what was lost. To dig through the rubble of our own lives—gently, bravely—and to reclaim the parts of ourselves we were told were too much, not enough, inconvenient, or unworthy. The parts we buried to survive. The voices we silenced. The desires we shamed. The truths we tucked away.

This is the heart of my work: supporting others in their journey back to themselves. Reclaiming, not by force, but with love. With patience. With presence. And now I see that the space where this work will take place has been built in the exact same way.

Stone by stone. Story by story. With intention. With reverence. With love.

The synergy is undeniable. What was once hidden is now honoured. What was once broken is now whole. This space doesn’t just hold the work—it is the work. It reflects it, supports it, and amplifies it.

On Sunday, June 1st at 11:30am, we will gather to bless this space. To mark its opening not just in time, but in spirit.

I will be announcing dates I will be able to offer session form this beautiful building soon...

This is a reclamation. And we are just getting started, come and join me in this medicine.....
